Almost enough said.... Dog Day Sunrise is on that bill too. Now that's a lineup more solid than my hook after reading the latest issue of "Large and in Charge." All kidding aside, this show should cover all fans of heavy music, and I can't fucking wait for it to go down. Lets get this meal on wheels and make the first Broadway Joes Localmetal.com show a success. Getting heavy bands regular gigs there would be a lot of fun. I just listened to a couple of your mp3's and I am really looking forward to playing with Downcast. This will definitly be an intense show. Clark www.tenbodieshigh.com

Depending on how well this show goes, this might be my last attempt at putting on the localmetal.com show. These fucking bands just don't want to help out, and it effects the shows. The Cruise in show was a flop, and it's got everything to do with how much work the bands put in. Not only did they not help promote, the all whined about their time slots. TBH was nice enough to switch and it was something that we should not have done. All the bands left right after their sets. TBH was left with only the people that came to see TBH. There were some locals there. This band Dhedbolt was there checking us out. Besides that, the show sucked. The other bands are not allowed to play Cruise in now.
Message to the bands for the BJ show Aug 9th.
Bring as many people as you can. Both you and your fans stay till the end. Show your support for the other bands. Don't be an asshole. We'll see if there is going to be any more localmetal.com shows.
$3 for 21 and over.
$5 for under.

So the Cruise In show didnt go well? That really sucks. Which bands arent allowed to play anymore? I wish we coulda still played. We just werent ready for that show. Some people just fuck ya over I guess. This is the second time this happened at the Cruise In.
You cant really expect a sell-out crowd the first time setting up a show. Alot of people have never heard of them bands before. So thats a big reason right there. You should of got some big locals to play the first show. We had about 12-15 people coming. Im sorry the other bands didnt promote. Its really their loss.

Well we in Downcast have been doing a little flyering here and there and sending out our email list flyers.I guess I am just saying we have been doing promoting and I hope people will show up. But a show is a show and we would play for three people as long as the liked us and show a interest. You can play for a hundred people but whats the point if the don't give a shit about the band on stage. You need to give time for the Localmetal.com shows to grow and gain more attention. I hope I didn't upset anyone by posting this no harm meant. Now be at B-Joes on the 9th. Downcast- www.angelfire.com/dc/dcband

All good points indeed. My problem is, this isn't my full time gig, or even part time for that matter. Setting up shows takes a lot of time. I've got many other responsibitlies. I welcome anyone who would like to jump in and give me a hand, but no one is volunteering.
I'd just like to say, that there was a descent turn out at this show. Better than most shows, but as a band finished playing, they took off with their crowd. Even if just the bands styed for the whole show, it would have been better. These aren't big concerts that I'm setting up. They're just low budget local shows. I'm not looking to make money, I just want the bands to get heard.
Don't let the big local bands fool you. You can draw just as much as they can. I had shows with the bigger locals, and they didn't bring in that many people.
For that, I think I'll have to redirect my energy elsewhere.
Let's make this show great!
Spread the word on the other message boards.
