There was a slight problem with the board yesterday.
I noticed that it was running a little slow all day. Later in the day, I was unable to stay logged in. However, I was able to still post messages as a guest. I spelled my own name wrong, but I got my point acrossed.
I already said this in a reply to Skwirl, but I'll say it again. The company that made the programs for these boards (proboards), is relatively new. Program updates / improvements and small glitches are to be expected. I went to the main proboards webmaster board yesterday, and they were saying that the problem with the speed was, someones board was screwed up. All of these boards are kind of linked to one site (proboards.com). They are independant, but like any network, if something gets screwed up, the whole network is affected. Everything is OK now.
The board is usually 90% problem free. It usually runs at a descent speed and the overall functionality of the board is good.
Using the board:
Here are a couple tips for smooth message board use.
1. This one kind of applies to the whole site. When you go to localmetal.com, the page will load up, and a pop up will load up.
Do not close that pop up!!!!!!
Because when you go to another page on the site, like
the concert calendar, band list, or any other angel fire part of the site, another pop up will happen.
But if you don't close the pop up, and minimize it,
no other pop ups will happen.
2. When you click on the message board. It's a different site, so it will have its own pop up.
Don't close that one either!!!
Minimize it.
If you use the site this way, you will not have any pop ups.
3. Registering for a user name makes using the board easier. There is less to type when have a user name.
Log in once, and make all the posts you want, with out filling in a name and email address. There is even an option to stay logged in all the time. so everytime you go to the site, you can post without even logging in.
